Spring Break....day 1

Day 1- First stop: Salt Lake Temple and Conference Center
We got the kids all ready and packed up a lunch at Grandma MacKay's house! And then off we went.....
It was INSANE trying to get around because there was a protest against Obama and immigration rights. We are talking like 30,000 Hispanics walking the streets chanting in Spanish yes we can! It was quite the sight to see!
Once we finally weaseled our way through the protest, we went to tour the conference center. Here we are inside by the fountain.
The conference center was beautiful and absolutely huge!!!!!

This is the podium where they speak. This podium was built out of the wood from a tree in the Late President Gordon B. Hinkley's yard. He truly was an amazing man.

We got to see amazing art work that is all original (except for one) This was a beautiful one!
Here we are on the roof top. Carlene took this picture from behind the fountain looking out at the Salt Lake Temple
This was taken by our Tour guide on the roof. I couldn't believe how much thought went into building this amazing building. Even the roof top was so beautiful!
Another view on top
I absolutely love this picture my mom took of Devin and Ashlyn on Temple Square
We got to do a bunch of pictures with all the kids and the full temple view in the backgroundHere is Carlene and Blake in front of the Temple....one of my fav's of them!
We all tried to jump off this stand. Here is Carlene and Devin's attempt!
Here is Blake and Devin.......how cute is Blake!?!
And....my favorite.....Carlene and I!
Our last stop was the Visitors Center. We got to go see the Statue of Christ! This was a breathtaking place to be. You can see the holes on his hands and feet.

I am just so very grateful that we were able to come on this trip and show the kids all these amazing places!!!!.........oh and Ryan......we miss you and love you!
